Prestons Convenient Location
Preston is conveniently located Preston is one of the most popular Cary, North Carolina neighborhoods located in Cary, East of HWY 540 and West of 54.
Preston is about 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh, 22 minutes from Durham, and about 29 min from Chapel Hill. That being said, you can buy a house in the same neighborhood but in a different city as some homes are in Cary, while others are actually in Morrisville NC. It is surrounded by Heritage Pines, Carramore, Huntington Woods, Glenkirk, and Weatherstone neighborhoods.

Prestons Unique History
This beautiful neighborhood was founded in 1993 by the SAS Institute and is composed of smaller neighborhoods such as Preston Glenn and Preston Pines. It is considered affluent and educated. Known for its superb golf courses – the Prestonwood Country Club is located here. Events such as the SAS tournament are held in Preston regularly. The proximity to downtown Raleigh, schools, restaurants, and greenways makes this an ideal location to call home. Homes were built primarily in the 1990s and range from traditional to craftsman-style homes. If you’re looking for a Cary, NC neighborhood that has it all, Preston is sure to please.
Community center
Nestled in the heart of Cary, Prestonwood Country Club is a luxurious golf and country club community. This private club offers its members and their guests, championship golf, superb amenities, and a relaxed and comfortable setting.
It is known for its challenging 18-hole course designed by renowned golf architect Donald Ross. The course winds through rolling hills and dense hardwoods, providing a stern test for even the most experienced golfer. In addition to the championship golf course, Prestonwood also offers a 9-hole executive course, perfect for beginners or those who want a quick round.

If you are into some great food, Preston is surrounded by shopping centers filled with a plethora of restaurants to choose from.
If you are into some Indian or Asian flavors, Nazarra Indian Bistro and So Hot would be my top choices. You can find them just on the other side of the road. If you’d like to indulge yourself with sweets, Kilwins(one of my favorite ice cream places) is in the same shopping center. Once you are done with your calories intake, you can hit F45, a truly challenging small fitness center, a hidden gem just next to Tazza Kitchen. Now, a truly amazing bakery, probably the most popular one in Cary, is La Farm Bakery, in the Preston Corners, just at the intersection of High House Rd and NW Cary Parkway.

Limitless Shopping Preston
About 22 minutes away from Preston, The Crabtree Valley Mall is one of the biggest malls in North Carolina.

Preston has an interesting school assignments. Depending on which side of preston you live in, your base school might be different.
